What is Auto Mobile in Wix Studio Two?

Auto Mobile is a Studio Two setting that builds your mobile layout for you. When you add or move elements on desktop, it rearranges mobile to match. It's on by default and switches off for any section you adjust by hand on mobile.

Key points

  • Auto Mobile is on by default for new Studio Two sites.
  • Adjusting a section's layout, an element's responsive behaviour or hiding an element on mobile turns it off for that section.
  • You can turn it back on per section only while it's on site-wide.

Auto Mobile is a Wix Studio Two setting that builds your mobile layout for you. When you make structural changes on desktop, such as adding or moving elements, it rearranges the mobile breakpoint to match. It's on by default for new sites, and it switches off for any section you start adjusting by hand on mobile.

What turns Auto Mobile off?

For a single section, any of these:

  • Adjusting the section's layout on the mobile breakpoint.
  • Changing an element's responsive behaviour on mobile.
  • Hiding an element on mobile only.

Changing responsive behaviour on desktop or tablet doesn't switch it off.

For the whole site, open Customize Breakpoints, click the Auto Mobile toggle, then Turn Off. The adjustments it already made stay in place, but new desktop changes won't be adapted for mobile.

How do you turn it back on?

  1. Open the Mobile breakpoint.
  2. Select the section.
  3. Hover over the Auto Mobile icon next to it, choose Turn On for this Section, then Turn On.

This only works while Auto Mobile is on for the whole site. If you switch it back on site-wide, sections you adjusted by hand stay excluded and keep your edits.

Our advice: leave it on and take over only the sections that really need it. Wix says Aria designs desktop only, so on AI-built sites Auto Mobile is doing the mobile work. The setting next to it, limit scaling, caps how much elements grow on mobile screens 700px and wider. Leave that on too.
