How We Turn Visions Into High-Performing Websites
At Vision Marketing, designing a website is more than a project; it’s a partnership. We believe in working collaboratively with our clients throughout the process, removing stress and replacing it with clarity and creativity. Our website design & development process is straightforward and transparent, ensuring you’re involved, informed and excited every step of the way.

When clients inquire about our website building process, we guide them through each phase to ensure a seamless, rewarding experience from concept to launch. Here is the breakdown of how it works:
Our Website Development Process Step by Step
1. Discovery Phase.
Every website design and development at Vision Marketing always starts with a genuine conversation. To begin with, we take time to understand your business, your goals, your audience and the challenges you’re looking to overcome.
This discovery phase is relaxed and collaborative. It is like a guided chat. You can share what you like, what’s worked (or hasn’t) in the past, and where you want to go next. This is the time when we ask lots of questions to help surface important details, such as your brand’s personality, the actions you want visitors to take, how the site will fit into your overall marketing strategy, and so on.
We also use this opportunity to clarify your budget, timeline and expectations. This helps us recommend the right structure and design direction for your needs.
By the end of this stage, we’ll both have a clear picture of what success looks like for your website and how we can bring it to life together.
2. Proposal Creation.
After our chat, we put together a proposal that covers everything discussed (structure, functionality, timeline, investment and outcomes). You’ll never be left guessing what’s included or how long things will take. Instead, you can expect a clearly outlined scope, transparent pricing, and timelines broken down by phase.
Once you’ve approved the proposal, we’re ready to get moving.
3. Timelines Outline.
As soon as your project kicks off, you’ll receive a timeline outlining the planned website design and development stages.
At this point, you can also expect a breakdown of what we’ll need from you along the way (logos, content, media files, etc.) to ensure there are no delays or last-minute scrambles.
4. Design & Development.
Now is the time, when, with your goals in mind, we begin shaping the visual and technical foundation of your website. Our team takes everything we’ve discussed and starts building your new website. With the best user experience practices in web design, we focus on user-friendly navigation and smooth performance, ensuring your site is fast, accessible, and ready to convert.
You’ll have two rounds of revisions to fine-tune the design and content. That means if something doesn’t feel quite right, you can let us know, and we’ll make the necessary adjustments before going live. Our goal is for you to feel confident in the final result. These revision rounds are built in, so you're not paying extra for the final polish.
5. Final Testing.
Before we launch your new website, we put it through a full round of testing. Here’s what we focus on during the testing phase:
User Experience (UX) Testing
We want your visitors to feel comfortable and confident while browsing your site. That’s why we perform real interactions to check how easy it is to complete key actions, such as making a purchase, filling out a form, or finding information. This helps us spot anything that might cause confusion or slow someone down.
Functionality Checks
Every link, button and form is tested to ensure it behaves exactly as expected. Broken links or buttons that don’t work are not just annoying, they can even drive visitors away. We take the time to click through the entire site.
Browser and Device Compatibility
Your audience could be browsing on an iPhone, a tablet, a Windows laptop, or an Android device, so it is our responsibility to ensure your site works smoothly on all of them. We test across all major browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, to ensure a consistent experience wherever your users come from.
Performance and Speed
Nobody likes a slow website. If a page takes more than a couple of seconds to load, people will often move on. That’s why we check your site’s speed and performance, optimise images, and other assets to keep things running fast from the very first click.
With most web traffic now coming from smartphones, mobile usability isn’t optional; it’s a must. We test how your site looks and functions on different mobile screen sizes, so it’s easy to navigate, tap and read without zooming or frustration.
6. Launch.
Once everything has been thoroughly tested and signed off, it’s time to launch. We also provide you with all the essential details, access credentials, and guidance to ensure you're fully confident using your new site.
7. Support and Maintenance.
Ok, so now your website is live and has become a living part of your business. Just like everything that’s built to perform, it needs a bit of regular care to keep running smoothly. At Vision Marketing, we offer website support and maintenance services to keep your site secure, up-to-date, and running at its best, so you can focus on growing your business.
Our maintenance plans include all the essentials to keep things ticking over behind the scenes, including:
Technical Support
We’re here when you need us. If something stops working or doesn’t feel quite right, we’re only a message away. From small bugs to backend hiccups, we provide prompt, friendly support to fix issues quickly, before they affect your visitors.
Regular Updates
Behind every website is a set of tools and systems that need to be kept current. We handle all updates for you, ensuring your website stays secure, compatible and stable over time.
Content Updates
Want to refresh a product description, change your opening hours, or add a new blog post? That's also included. We can help keep your site’s content accurate and engaging. We also monitor for broken links or outdated sections and address them proactively.
Performance Optimisation
Speed and performance are key to a great user experience. As part of our maintenance service, we monitor your site’s load times and technical performance, making behind-the-scenes improvements to keep everything running fast and smoothly.
Our Website Development Process. Summary.
We believe that a new website development should never feel overwhelming; it should feel exciting. That’s why we’ve designed a stress-free website design & development process that works with you, not around you. We collaborate closely to find the ideal solution that meets your business goals, needs, and budget.
From our first conversation, we focus on clarity. We take time to discover what you need, establish the right budget, and prepare a proposal that meets expectations from the start. Once you’re happy to move forward, we share timelines and a breakdown of each stage, so you’re never left wondering what comes next.
You’ll always feel supported throughout the journey. We check in regularly using your preferred method of contact, and when we reach the final stages, you’ll have two rounds of revisions, just in case anything needs tweaking. This proven process ensures you walk away with a finished website that looks great, works beautifully, and delivers the results you wanted, without any of the usual stress.
FAQs About Our Website Development Process
Q1: How long does it take to build a website?
Every project is different, but on average, our website design & development process takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the size, complexity and how quickly we receive the assets and feedback from you. We always provide clear timelines upfront, so you’re never left guessing.
Q2: Can you include SEO in the website project?
We specialise in both technical SEO and content-focused SEO. In fact, we strongly recommend including SEO from the start. Optimising your site while it’s being built is far more effective (and cost-efficient) than trying to retrofit it later. This ensures your site is set up to rank higher from start, giving you a better return on your investment.
Q3: What if I want to make changes after the website goes live?
You’ll have two rounds of revisions before launch, and once the site is live, we offer ongoing maintenance packages that cover content updates, performance checks, and support whenever you need it.
Q4: How does payment work for website design projects?
We usually split the payment into clear stages to keep things simple and transparent. A deposit is taken upfront to secure the project and kick off the work. The remaining balance is typically paid in one or two instalments, depending on the size and timeline of the project. All of this is outlined clearly in your proposal.
