Transforming a Tailor's Website: The Dąbrowski & Góral Case Study
Nobody buys a made-to-measure suit from a website. But almost everyone looks at the website before they book a fitting.
That's the job a tailor's website actually does. It has to feel like the atelier, answer the questions people are too polite to ask in person (how much, how long, where), and make booking that first appointment easy. If you're researching tailor website design, that's the bar.
Dąbrowski & Góral asked us to rebuild theirs on Wix Studio. The design was the fun part. The real work was moving a live booking diary, two salons, trunk show guest lists, and years of tracking across without a single client noticing. Here's how we did it.

About the Client
Dąbrowski & Góral is a Polish menswear and tailoring house specializing in Neapolitan-style made-to-measure suits, dinner jackets, shirts, and outerwear. They operate two salons, located on ul. Ratajczaka in Poznań and ul. Mokotowska in Warsaw. They also host trunk shows with renowned houses like Florence's Stefano Bemer. Their suits are crafted on a full canvas and cut from premium cloth by mills such as Loro Piana. You can explore the finished site at dabrowskigoral.com.
We first collaborated with Krzysztof Góral back in 2023 on a made-to-order integration for their old site. When the brand outgrew that site, he reached out again.
The Project Brief
The request was clear: a new website on Wix Studio. The design needed to reflect the premium product, include a full English version for international clients, and feature a search setup tailored to how potential clients in Warsaw and Poznań actually look for a tailor.
Identifying the Core Challenge
Here's the reality most business owners discover halfway through the process: you cannot convert a Wix Classic Editor site into a Wix Studio site. Wix is explicit about this. A site built in the Classic Editor must be rebuilt in Studio from scratch.
Rebuilding the pages is the visible part. However, what doesn't come with them is everything that runs the business behind the scenes.
Key Elements to Transfer Without Notice:
A booking diary with 65 upcoming appointments across both salons.
Every bookable service, tailor, working hour, and the booking form clients fill in.
Both salons as legitimate business locations, complete with full addresses.
Two Stefano Bemer trunk show evenings, including their guest lists.
Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and Pinterest tracking.
A Studio rebuild provides new pages but does not transfer your diary.
Get this wrong, and clients may show up for fittings that no one knows about, or receive a flood of confirmation emails for appointments booked weeks ago. For a business reliant on personal service, either scenario is worse than an outdated website.
Pre-Migration Considerations
Before diving into design work, we established a few rules with the client. These principles guided every decision thereafter.
Client Experience Should Remain Unchanged
No duplicate confirmations, no appointment shifts, and no need for clients to sign up for events twice.
Only Transfer Active Data
The old site held 11,463 bookings, but only 65 were future appointments. The rest, including bookings for staff and services that no longer exist, remained archived on the old site to avoid cluttering the new one.
Prioritize Polish, Then English
Polish was set as the primary language for local clients, with a full English version at /en for international visitors, ensuring Wix informs Google of the correct versions.
Search Engine Optimization Based on User Behavior
People do not search for "Neapolitan tailoring atelier." They look for a made-to-measure suit in Warsaw, a wedding suit, or inquire about bespoke suit costs.
Empower the Team for Post-Launch Management
Prices, suit styles, and events needed to be things the salon could update independently, without needing to contact us.
Executing the Migration with Wix Studio
This is where our deep knowledge of the platform proved invaluable. Some aspects involved standard Wix Studio practices, while others required creative solutions for limitations inherent to Studio.
Creating a Salon-Like Experience Online
The homepage features full-width imagery, large serif headings, ample space, and photography that effectively sells the brand. Booking is just one click away on every page, available in both languages.
One detail we take pride in: the header displays the full Dąbrowski & Góral wordmark at the top of the page, then transitions to the brand's griffin emblem as you scroll. While Wix Studio allows for freezing, hiding, or fading a header on scroll, it does not support swapping one element for another. Therefore, we implemented this feature using custom code injected throughout the site. It may seem minor, but it’s precisely the kind of detail a tailor appreciates.

A Robust Booking System
Wix Bookings manages the entire appointment process: introductory meetings, suits and dinner jackets, shirts, jackets, and coats across both salons. Transferring this system was the most delicate aspect of the project.
Nothing carries over between two Wix sites. Each service, tailor, location, and contact receives a new ID on the new site. Thus, each of the 65 upcoming bookings had to be meticulously rebuilt and directed to the correct tailor, service, and salon.
Prioritize Silence.
Wix typically sends an email and text notification to clients the moment a booking is created. We disabled this feature during the migration and conducted a test booking to our inbox before handling any real appointments. All 65 bookings transferred seamlessly without a notification.
Match Clients by Email, Not Name.
Two tailors had their name prefixes reversed on the old and new sites. Matching by name could have led to clients being assigned to the wrong tailor. Instead, we matched based on email, using phone numbers as a fallback for clients who had changed their email addresses.
Verify Calendar Availability.
Settings may appear correct but can still be inaccurate. We compared the old and new setups line by line, then checked the calendar for actual available slots. This process revealed a tailor assigned to services with no bookable time due to incorrect working hours. This issue would not have been flagged as an error, resulting in clients being unable to book appointments.
Rebuild the Booking Form in Polish.
Seven services share a single booking form. We backed it up, rebuilt it in Polish, and retained the original field references, ensuring old and new exports remain aligned.

Seamless Trunk Shows with Guest Lists Intact
Dąbrowski & Góral hosts relaxed evening trunk shows. In September, they featured Stefano Casaleggio, CEO of the Florentine shoemaker Stefano Bemer, in both Warsaw and Poznań.
The events app was not installed on the new site. We integrated Wix Events, recreated both evenings, and successfully moved all 14 RSVPs (21 guests, including plus-ones) across. Creating an RSVP typically triggers a confirmation email, so we disabled notifications for each guest and tested it ourselves first.
We also identified an issue the Wix API does not alert you about. Newly created events only include the default name and email fields. The originals also requested phone numbers and offered a plus-one option. Without reinstating these fields, the new site would have silently stopped collecting phone numbers from new sign-ups.

Empowering the Team to Update Prices and Styles
Many tailors hesitate to disclose prices online. Dąbrowski & Góral, however, embraces transparency, which works to their advantage. Their price list operates from the Wix CMS, categorized into suits and jackets, formal and evening wear, outerwear, and extras, each with a starting price and a typical range.
Since it's CMS-driven, changing a price takes just two minutes in the dashboard, rather than requiring a design change. We implemented the same approach for the suit styles gallery and recorded a brief video to guide the team on how to update photos. As we often say, your website shouldn't need a developer every time you want to publish.

Implementing a Proper Bilingual Setup
The site operates on Wix Multilingual: Polish at the root, English at /en, with hreflang tags informing Google which version to display. Translations were integrated into the site via the Wix translation API rather than being pasted in page by page.
It's important to note that if you manage a bilingual Wix site, the translation dashboard counts fields, not words. Components from online shops and image file names can inflate the total, making a well-translated site appear incomplete. We verified coverage based on word count instead.

Comprehensive Tracking Without Double Counting
Wix separates marketing tags into two locations: the built-in integrations panel and the Custom Code settings. Missing one means losing half the setup. We mirrored both, covering Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, and then tidied up the overall setup.
The old site had the Meta Pixel installed twice, resulting in double counting for every page view. It also included a Facebook Messenger chat plugin from 2018 and a script calling a library Wix no longer loads. All three were removed, with the originals still accessible on the old site if needed.
Laying the SEO Foundation
A beautiful tailor's website that nobody can find is an expensive business card. Therefore, our SEO efforts commenced before launch, not after.
SEO Strategies Implemented Across Every Page:
One main keyword and one supporting keyword per page to prevent internal competition. For instance, "szycie na miarę" (made-to-measure tailoring) on the tailoring page, "garnitur ślubny na miarę" (made-to-measure wedding suit) on the wedding page, and "cennik garniturów na miarę" (made-to-measure suit prices) on the price list.
A well-crafted meta title and description for each page, designed for user engagement while being concise enough to avoid truncation in Google results, incorporating Warsaw and Poznań where appropriate.
Clean, readable Polish URLs like /szycie-na-miare and /garnitur-slubny, instead of the /home-1-1-1 style addresses Studio generates for duplicated pages.
Removal of template remnants, including page titles that still referenced the original template.
Implementation of LocalBusiness structured data, ensuring Google understands the business identity and location.
A groom's guide featuring a page for each wedding style, from classic to glamour, boho, rustic, and country, addressing common inquiries grooms have prior to booking a fitting.
Managing two salons presents its own challenges, as Google often favours one location over another. We've discussed why Google only sees one of your branches if you operate multiple locations. If you seek similar groundwork for your own site, our Wix SEO service is at your disposal.
Nobody searches for "Neapolitan atelier." They search for a wedding suit in Warsaw.
The Outcome
Dąbrowski & Góral is now live on Wix Studio at dabrowskigoral.com, available in both Polish and English.
Current Status:
Both salons are bookable online, with every service, tailor, and working hour verified against the old site.
All 65 upcoming appointments were successfully transferred, with no clients receiving duplicate emails or texts.
Both Stefano Bemer trunk show events were active on the new site, complete with guest lists, ahead of the events.
Prices, suit styles, and events are now managed by the team, not us.
Tracking has been mirrored from the old site, with double counting eliminated.
Rankings take time to develop, and it’s still early days. We prefer to share real numbers once sufficient data is available rather than embellish percentages prematurely.
This project exemplifies why we assert a finished website and a working website are two different products. The visible pages were the straightforward part. The bookings, guest lists, and tracking are what truly make it functional.
Key Takeaways
Treat the Data Migration as a Separate Project.
Transitioning from Wix Classic to Wix Studio is a rebuild. Plan the migration of bookings, events, contacts, and tracking separately from the design, ensuring thorough testing.
Test the Silence.
Every transfer of client-facing data should begin with a test record sent to your inbox.
Verify, Don’t Assume.
Settings may indicate a tailor is bookable, but the calendar may tell a different story. Always confirm what the client actually sees.
Leave the Past Behind.
Old data filled with deleted staff and services creates more issues than it resolves on a new site. Archive it instead of importing.
If you're considering a migration, we've also detailed how to redesign a Wix site without downtime.

FAQs
Can you move a Wix Classic Editor site to Wix Studio?
Not automatically. Wix confirms a site built in the Wix Editor can't be migrated to the Studio Editor, so it has to be rebuilt. App data like bookings, events, and CMS content lives with the old site and has to be moved across separately.
Will my clients get emails when bookings are moved to a new Wix site?
Not if it's done carefully. Wix Bookings lets you turn off client notifications and SMS reminders when a booking is created, and event RSVPs can be created with notifications disabled. We always prove it with a test booking to our own inbox before touching real data.
What should a tailor's website include?
Online booking for consultations and fittings, clear starting prices, a portfolio or lookbook, a page for each main service such as made-to-measure suits, wedding suits and shirts, full details for every salon, and real client reviews.
Is Wix Studio good for a bilingual website?
Yes. Wix Multilingual gives each language its own URL, handles the hreflang tags Google needs and lets you translate apps like Bookings and Events too. You still want a person checking the translations and the SEO for each language.
How long does a Wix Classic to Wix Studio migration take?
For Dąbrowski & Góral it was around six months from signed proposal to launch, including design, content and translation. The data move itself took a few focused days once the new site was ready. A simpler site without bookings or events can be much quicker.
