Can I add custom CSS in Wix Studio Two?

Probably, but check your account first. Wix's Help Center describes per-element custom CSS in Studio Two, written by Aria or by hand, while Wix's developer comparison still lists custom CSS as not supported yet.

Key points

  • The Help Center documents per-element custom CSS in the Inspector.
  • Wix's developer comparison still says custom CSS isn't supported yet.
  • Custom CSS applies to one element; use styled elements for site-wide styling.

Probably, but check your account first. Wix's Help Center article on adding custom CSS in Studio Two, updated on 2 November 2026, describes it working: select an element, open Custom CSS in the Inspector, and let Aria write the code or write it yourself. But Wix's developer comparison page still lists custom CSS as not supported yet. Until the two agree, test it in the editor before you rely on it for a client.

How do you add custom CSS in Studio Two?

  1. Select the element on the canvas.
  2. In the Inspector on the right, scroll to Custom CSS and click + Add.
  3. Describe the effect in Generate CSS code with AI and press Enter. Aria writes the CSS, applies it on the canvas, and shows a Style Summary explaining what it does.
  4. To write or change the CSS yourself, choose Edit CSS manually, then Save. Clear removes it.

Wix's tips for prompts: one effect at a time, name the state you mean (such as hover), and be specific.

What are the limits?

  • It applies to the selected element only. For site-wide styling, such as every primary button, Wix points you to styled elements in Site Styles.
  • You can set different CSS for different screen sizes by editing it manually.
  • Changes go live when you publish.
  • Most elements accept custom CSS, but not every property works on every element.

Our take: style with Site Styles first and keep custom CSS for the odd effect styles can't do. It's far easier for a client to look after. If you'd like that set up properly, see our Wix Studio 2 service.
